Welcome
to our site ! Our purpose here is to simply encourage you to
"be still and know ...". By sharing information, personal
experiences, etc. we hope that you may be interested to see, or
encouraged to be steadfast in, the stillness that can help you know and
be closer to God !
It seems that knowing God is often doing, or allowing for, the
opposite of our human instincts and inclinations. And often the opposite of the
status quo, or majority opinion of the "world". Likewise, in this
world that offers and encourages so much activity, and so many things to
DO, "stillness" can be an avenue to the actual satisfaction of
our deep soul needs. God's way, and source of true joy, is often the
opposite of what we think. It's a struggle sometimes, maybe most of the
time... to find time to be still, to commit ourselves to it. However, it
rewards us greatly, helps us be grounded, and calms the heart, mind, and
soul. Just like our choosing to "follow God's way" rather than the more common,
and more socially acceptable, ways of the world. Fighting
for stillness in my life! A sad state of affairs, but the fight
is worth it. : )
Busy, Busy, Busy ...
Today, people are being influenced to
believe that busyness, a "high-energy" lifestyle,
personal power, and having "things" bring satisfaction, identity, the respect of
others, etc. Our purpose here is to help you see God knows the
best ways for us. Ones that can bring more peace, and true heart & soul
satisfaction. In this case, referring to Psalm 46:10. No
"revolutionary new ideas",
methods, or secrets ... just sharing our experience, and
encouraging you to rely on some old-fashioned, eternal truths of
God !
For this blessing of
"being still and knowing" you need nothing, do
nothing, have nothing, say nothing, etc. You may think this
sounds boring ... to the
contrary, it can be the most exhilarating, satisfying, deep, and
real experience you ever have. Granted, it's not the norm, or
easily done in the world today, but it's worth the effort to
initiate the experience.
