He Calls Me

He calls me to the rocks to come and seek his face.

I can see him in the wind, the waves, the trees.

I can see him in the birds, I can see him in the sky, and I can seem him in the changing of the leaves.

He is so lovely, He is so lovely, He is so lovely, each day I see.

He is so lovely, He is so lovely, He is so lovely, to me.

3/30/03   Some thoughts from one of our visitors :

    "This site speaks a lot on our overdose of information today. What we need is a tool to discern Information from Wisdom. Here is a key :"

"Information is physical. That means it is tangible, and therefore, temporary, and therefore it's tomorrow's garbage, all of it. Time changes information. Intent changes information. Motives change information. So information is by nature, flawed by human perception, and in the end, it's unimportant. It's physical. New day, new data."

   "Wisdom is spiritual. Spiritual things are above and beyond time and therefore not affected by time. Proverbs is as perfect today as the day it was written thousands of years ago. It is not affected by the pollution of human motives and human nature. It is therefore important. Information is physical. Wisdom is spiritual."

   "It's a good trade to give up a bunch of information in trade for a tiny nugget of wisdom. Your wisdom will not be worth less tomorrow. You can share wisdom to everyone you meet and still have it all. It's magical. It's spiritual, and it's perfect. And you can have all of it you want. Shut off the news, put down the paper, and open your Bible. Amen."

   This Is My Father's World      ( Public Domain )

   (Words: Maltbie D. Babcock, 1901, alt. While a pastor in Lockport, New York, Babcock liked to hike in an area called "the escarpment," an ancient upthrust ledge near Lockport. It has a marvelous view of farms, orchards, and Lake Ontario, about 15 miles distant. It is said those walks in the woods inspired these lyrics. The title recalls an expression Babcock used when starting a walk: "I'm going out to see my Father's world.")

   Song Lyrics:

This is my Father's world, and to my listening ears

All nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres.

This is my Father's world, the birds their carols raise,

The morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker's praise.

This is my Father's world: I rest me in the thought

Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;

His hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father's world. O let me ne'er forget

That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet.

This is my Father's world: why should my heart be sad?

The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!

God reigns; let the earth be glad!

This is my Father's world: He shines in all that's fair;

In the rustling grass I hear Him pass;

He speaks to me everywhere.

In the rustling grass I hear Him pass;

He speaks to me everywhere.
