Having your website properly prepared for, or optimized for, search engines is THE MOST valuable thing you can do regarding your internet presence.

Remember that a website is advertising your business ! Graphics, fancy features, novelty stuff, music, etc. are of very limited long-term value, and can be a negative in several ways. Information, function, dependability, and search engine work are far more important to your  viewer / visitor, and to the overall advertising value of your website.

What EZ Web Page Solutions 'Search Engine Optimization' Involves :
  • Inspect & Recommend ( This includes quite a bit of time checking your current search engine results, and the possible queries, topics, and results re. your business area ) This is free. It's the first step in doing a good job for you.
  • Optimize your website for search engine "friendliness"
  • Submit your site to several major search engines.
  • Submit your site to a few of what we find to be the best indexes, listing sites, etc. related to your website's area of interest / business.
  • Staying on the job for a few months, to give you the best product. ( This is to occasionally "tweak" the initial work. This is a tremendous plus in providing the best work possible for you. )

Myths Regarding Search Engine "Success" :

  • Submitting monthly for X amount.
  • Submitting to "over 200 search engines" or obviously, "2,500 search engines".
  • Because a website maker is good at something, they are good at search engine work
  • Guaranteed "Top Ten" placement.
  • Search engine work is hard to understand, too much trouble, etc.
  • You can't really see, or understand what a webmaster does re. search engine work.
  • You have to pay search engines for good results.
  • Search engines "change their ways", so it's not worth fooling with.

Why Search Engines Rank DO or DO NOT Rank Sites Well :

  • Content
  • Relevance
  • Text
  • Geographical Considerations
  • The Use of Frames
  • Graphics
  • Pictures
  • Certain Things That Have To Be Avoided (including "tricks")

Costs :

EZ Web Page Solutions' basic website search engine work costs $125.00. If certain problems are encountered, we may charge you additional hourly fees. This would usually be just 2-3 hours additional work at $28.00 / hour. These problems can involve access to your website, web page editing / making programs used, or in some cases, the free website places create problems performing the work. Also, your webmaster being open to helping with the process, can be an issue to deal with. If you have a particularly large site, it may take more time than the average to do the work. We will inform you, to the best of our ability, about these possibilities before work is begun. Our inspection process will usually reveal these things before we ever agree to do business, but there are surprises at times.

Another cost consideration is the overall site optimization... if your site's search engine work involves a number of things that enter the "site optimization" realm, then we will advise you of this and recommend both services. There is a basic charge of  $125.00 for overall site optimization.

The difference is this ...  Overall site optimization involves the speed of site / page loading, eliminating certain features that frustrate your visitors, optimizing file sizes, optimizing graphics, etc. Search engine optimization is specifically designed for improved search engine results.

How To Know If Someone Is Good At Search Engine Work :

Go to search engines, the most popular ones, and search for the (your) site using different queries. Look at other sites made by the webmaster ... and do the same thing. Consider many possible avenues to get to the site. See what happens.

Some search engines (the best) are true relevance & content based indexes ... some are "pay for results" type sites. In my opinion, these are not even true search engines. I consider the best real search engines to be Google, and Yahoo!

Why Your Site May Not Be "Search Engine Friendly" :

  • Frames ... When, and when not to, use them
  • Graphics ... How much is o.k., and why. When, and when not to, use them.
  • Text, or lack of it, it's relation to keywords, tags, search queries, etc.
  • Titles & page titles
  • Entry pages improperly done
  • Certain undesirable characters

Advantages Of Optimizing Your Site For Search Engines :

  • Obviously, for good results... to give you more advertising power through your site.
  • Multiple avenues for potential visitors to find your site
  • A "lifetime" of increased potential visitors, business prospects, etc.
  • Your own confidence, and satisfaction, when you see your site's increased exposure, avenues of access, etc.
